Session Description

Experience the chance to listen and participate in a live panel featuring speakers from a local hotel, rental company, Destination Management Company (DMC) and corporate planner. We’ll take questions and examples submitted prior to the meeting so the audience can hear their submissions answered in real time. Walk through the full life cycle of an event and see how it differs from each perspective of all those involved. You’ll gain a new understanding of how an event is processed in each stage and a new respect for how each business is affected. The goal is to promote stronger partnerships throughout and more effective communications across the industry.

Speaker Panel: How an Event Life Cycle Affects YOU

  • DMC Perspective: Emily Kratt, CIS, Innovatx Events
  • Rental Perspective: Rachel Church, Marquee

Rachel ChurchRachelChurch2
Rachel joined the outside sales division of Marquee Event Group almost 12 years ago upon returning to her hometown of Austin. Over the last decade, Rachel has seen the scale and scope of projects change along with the Central Texas event and rental market. Recognizing that the nature of the industry requires that you not only keep up with current trends, but that you push the envelope of design, Rachel employs her talents to support each client’s mission and to foster long-term relationships with others in the industry. Whether handling a rental for a small garden party, an extravagant weekend-long event, or one of the many festivals in and around Austin, Rachel relies on her creativity, work ethic, and talent for herding cats to see each project to a successful completion. When she is not working to help make memories for others, Rachel is busy making memories with her husband Greg and their twin boys, Gray and Owen.
Emily KrattEmilyKratt2
Emily, a New York City native, has been passionately working in the meetings and events industry for over a decade. Emily has worked at some of the nation’s premier event production and destination management companies since studying Special Event Management at New York University. Her experience includes work at David Stark in NYC and two of the largest Destination Management Companies in New York, working with hundreds of international Fortune 500 clients managing a variety of meetings, incentives, product launches and special events with multi-million dollar budgets. In the summer of 2011 Emily traded in her stilettos for a pair of cowboy boots and relocated out to Austin, Texas where she continues to work with corporations producing some of the city’s most prized and celebrated events. When Emily is not working on events, she’s found obsessing over her Mini Aussiedoodles Vino and Martini.
